Apps Common in Education: 

eClicker Host: This is a classroom response system (like the hand held clicker systems). eClicker Host is the instructor App and eClicker is the student App. This is a full featured student response system.

The Waste Land: An interactive and immersive look at the poem by TS elliot.

Outliner: A comprehensive note and task management program that is excellent for students who need help with organization.

Evernote: A cross platform program for note taking. Syncs notes with your phone, iPad, and computer. Supports pictures, web clips, and audio.

Shareboard: Turns an iPad and an LCD projector into an interactive whiteboard. Projecting iPad can also yield control to up to 4 other iPads in the room making this an interactive whiteboard.

Molecules: Molecules is an application for viewing three-dimensional renderings of molecules and manipulating them using your fingers.

Photoshop: a solid photo editor for the iPad (free)

Sketchbook Pro: A professional grade painting and drawing program.

Papers: An electronic repository for research journals. Connects to academic electronic repositories of research including local electronic libraries.

Blausen Human Atlas: A dynamic medical atlas of the human body that contains 3-D images, medical information, and a cross-searching medical term glossary.

Goodreader: Opens a large number of file formats for viewing. Great for grading papers with a stylus or typed feedback. It’s has file managing, searchable text, notes, highlighting, and full integration with Dropbox. Many, many features.

OmniGraphSketcher: Quickly create and present detailed graphs and charts on iPad.

Dragon Naturally Speaking: Dragon Dictation is an easy-to-use voice recognition application powered by Dragon® NaturallySpeaking® that allows you to easily speak and instantly see your text or email messages.

MoneyReader: A powerful app for non-sighted students that reads the denomination of bills.

Pages: A full powered word processing and publishing tool that is simple to use and visually stunning.

Numbers: A powerful spreadsheet program that supports interactive charts and dynamic forms.

Keynote: A slide based presentation program that allows you to create presentations with dynamic graphics, transitions, and embedded media. Keynote for the iPad is capable of working with PowerPoint files as well.
