Interactives

What?

An interactive whiteboard (IWB), is a large interactive display that connects to a computer and projector. A projector projects the computer's desktop onto the board's surface where users control the computer using a pen, finger or other device. The board is typically mounted to a wall or floor stand.

Why?

  • Interactive and hands on.
  • Makes learning more engaging, authentic and meaningful.
  • Can help break down the walls of your classroom when used for global collaboration.

How?

There are interactive whiteboard software packages, such as SMART Notebook, RM Easiteach and others that allow teachers and students to create and share interactive activities. In addition, many software programs and websites are conducive to use with the interactive whiteboard.
